Why do I need to submit my NPI number?

Certain transaction types require a valid NPI be submitted in the platform dashboard prior to use. This helps prevent test transactions that create a record in the trading partner system and allows PokitDok to communicate additional steps that need to be taken in order to transact successfully. Select trading partners require additional setup, such as provider registration or association with a submitter id, prior to being able to perform successful transactions. It is important to note that a valid NPI will be needed for all X12 transactions, the NPI submission process is only for those which have been marked as restricted by the PokitDok team.
